Innovator in digital medical education, leader in cardiovascular conference management, and active paramedic will provide leadership across two core verticals

MALVERN, PA (August 16, 2018) – HMP, a leading healthcare education and events company, today announced that Joshua D. Hartman, MBA, NRP, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of its Cardiovascular and Public Safety divisions, effective August 14, 2018.

Within this role, Hartman will oversee the strategic development and growth of two significant portfolios. The Public Safety group includes EMS World, a 30-year-old print and digital brand, and EMS World Expo, the world’s largest conference and trade show for the EMS community, recently named one of the “Fastest 50” growing trade shows by Trade Show Executive magazine. The Cardiovascular division includes two highly regarded educational meetings — the Amputation Prevention Symposium (AMP), dedicated to the treatment and prevention of Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI), and the 30-year old International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy (ISET), an annual gathering for endovascular and vascular specialists who treat patients with peripheral, cardiac, and neurovascular disease — as well as several award-winning print and digital brands, including the Journal of Invasive Cardiology.

"I am enthusiastic about Josh further expanding his focus for our team, helping to create additional value for EMS professionals and cardiovascular clinicians while identifying new opportunities to broaden our digital and global reach," said Jeff Hennessy, chairman and CEO, HMP. "Josh brings a unique set of skills to the role with his deep knowledge across multiple therapeutic areas, and I'm confident he will guide these portfolios to even greater success."

Hartman joined HMP in March as Vice President of its newly formed Public Safety Division. With nearly 20 years’ experience in medical education and training, including digital medical publishing and business development, Hartman most recently served as Executive Director of the Center for Education for the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) where he founded the organization’s digital platform, TCTMD, a comprehensive, global, online educational resource in interventional cardiology. At CRF, Hartman also had overall responsibilities for a division comprised of business development, programming, editorial, marketing, and meeting planning professionals who developed and executed more than 50 programs per year, including the annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) conference, a global gathering with nearly 10,000 attendees. Hartman also continues to work as a 911 and critical care paramedic — something he has done for more than 20 years — in both New York City and northern New Jersey.
