Innovator in digital medical education and active paramedic will lead the company’s public safety division

MALVERN, PA (March 22, 2018) – HMP, a leading healthcare education and events company, today announced that Joshua D. Hartman, MBA, NR-P, has joined the company as vice president of its newly established public safety division. Within this role, Hartman will oversee the strategic development and growth of the portfolio that includes EMS World, a 30-year-old print and digital brand for EMS professionals, and EMS World Expo, the world’s largest conference and trade show for the EMS community, recently named one of the “Fastest 50” growing trade shows by Trade Show Executive magazine.

With nearly 20 years’ experience in medical education and training, including digital medical publishing and business development, Hartman most recently served as executive director of the Center for Education for the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF), where he founded the organization’s digital platform, TCTMD, a comprehensive, global, online educational resource in interventional cardiology. Hartman had overall responsibilities for a division comprised of business development, programming, editorial, marketing, and meeting planning professionals who developed and executed more than 50 programs per year, including the annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) conference, a global gathering of nearly 10,000. Hartman also continues to work as a 911 and critical care paramedic – which he has done for more than 20 years – in both New York City and northern New Jersey.

“I am ecstatic to join such a forward-thinking organization,” Hartman said. “I look forward to working with the dynamic team already in place, and to applying my knowledge and experience to shape this newly formed division. Now more than ever, it is a critical time to be leading the development of education and information for first responders around the world so they can be fully equipped to protect the public and save lives.”

“We are very pleased to welcome a professional of Josh’s caliber to the team,” said Bill Norton, president, HMP. “Given the unique combination of his real-world clinical experience and medical education know-how, we are excited for him to take the reins in providing leadership to the division. We expect to accelerate growth in the portfolio, providing value not only for EMS professionals, but also for new audiences throughout the public safety arena. Josh’s deep digital expertise will also help us expedite online innovation and improve audience engagement, and we look forward to working with him to achieve these objectives.”
